According to reports, a 23-year-old man identified as
Henry Okeke has reportedly been jailed for stealing.
Okeke who was given a six-months jail sentence at the
Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, was found guilty of
stealing two cartons of malt and a motorcycle which
reportedly amounts to N155,000.
Passing the judgement, Chief Magistrate O.A. Layinka
who didn’t give the accused the option of a fine, said:
“The accused is to serve his jail-term in Kirikiri Prison to
serve as a deterrent to others.’’
Okeke reportedly committed the said offence around
4A.M on July 13, at Abolaji street, Mafoluku, Oshodi,
Lagos state, where he also lives.
Here’s what the prosecutor Sgt. Donjor Perezi, said
when he was brought before the court:
“The accused had tied the cartons of the Malta Guinness on
the stolen motor cycle and was about to ride it away when
he was caught.”
