Villa Owner Promises Transfers
Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has confirmed the club are
looking to sign a host of players before the end of the
transfer window.
Chinese businessman Xia took over the Villa Park club
earlier this summer and promised to back manager Roberto
Di Matteo in the transfer market.
“Our plan is to add 7-8 new players. We have 3 bids
ongoing and two loans negotiating. It will work out as
planned,” Xia tweeted.
Meanwhile, Di Matteo has confirmed Fiorentina want to
sign Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez.
“Sanchez? Fiorentina are interested, we are aware of this
but at this moment there is no agreement between the
parties,” Di Matteo said.
“He is an Aston Villa player and that will be the case until
there is an agreement between the two clubs.”
