The Ojuelegba axis of Lagos State witnessed a wild
drama of some sort when some Kick Against
Indiscipline (KAI) officials got involved in a clash
with men of the Nigerian army.
Reports say trouble started when a KAI official
slapped a plain-clothed soldier at Ojuelegba bus-
stop in Lagos because he walked past a parked
truck belonging to KAI officials.
The shocked soldier threatened fire and brimstone
following the slap he received from the KAI official
and promptly put a call through to his other
colleagues at the barracks and on realising the
impending danger, the KAI official and his other
colleagues fled the scene.

According to an eyewitness, the KAI officials took to
their heels peeling off their caps and uniforms in
order not to be identified by angry soldiers who
stormed the scene seeking to discipline them.
“The army officer quickly contacted the nearest
barracks and the whole story changed. Realizing
the impending danger, the KAI officers quickly fled
from the scene, throwing away their uniform and
caps in the process. When the soldiers arrived, the
KAI van’s windscreen was broken and tyres
lessened. Police officers later arrived at the scene
and shot in the air to scare people away.”
