Woman Committed Suicide After Seeing Her Sex Video On The Internet

Ms Cantone took her own life around 18 months after she
sent a video of herself having sex to some friends,
including her ex-boyfriend, to make him jealous.

Four people are being questioned by police after a woman
took her own life amid battle to have a sex tape removed
from the internet, according to reports.
Tiziana Cantone, 31, spent more than a year attempting to
have explicit footage of herself removed after it went viral.
She was found hanged at a relative's home in Mugnano,
Italy on Tuesday, despite winning a case for the "right to
be forgotten".
Prosecutors in Naples are now investigating four people
over "incitement to suicide" and defamation, according to
Italian media.
Her death sparked fury when details of Ms
Cantone's personal battle in the months leading up to her
suicide were revealed.
Ms Cantone took her own life around 18 months after she
sent a video of herself having sex to some friends,
including her ex-boyfriend, to make him jealous.
But the homemade video was then posted online and went
going viral.

To date, the footage has been viewed by almost one
million internet users and Ms Cantone was widely mocked.
During the sexual encounter the words "Stai facendo il
video" which translate to, "you're filming? Bravo" can be
heard.
The phrase became a derisive joke on the internet, as well
as being printed on T-shirts, smartphone cases and other
items.
It was even repeated in other YouTube videos, some
featuring famous footballers.
Ms Cantone quit her job, moved to Tuscany and tried to
change her name, but failed to escape the torment.
After a long court battle, she won a "right to be forgotten"
ruling ordering the video to be removed from various sites
and search engines, including Facebook.
But she was also ordered to pay €20,000 (£17,000) in
legal costs.
Tiziana's mother Maria Teresa, told La Repubblica: "She
had always been a healthy, normal girl.
"Recently, she had been very unhappy.
"She suffered from everything she saw and heard, and in
particular from the lawsuit, because she believed justice
had not been done."
